Praia de Fora

A paradise for fishing and surfing, the beach Praia de Fora is a true hideaway in the middle of Ganchos’ Bay. With its intact native vegetation, its access is relatively easy even for people who do not go trekking regularly. It is accessed from Ganchos de Fora Beach, following a small trail through the Atlantic Rain Forest. Praia de Fora has a 100 meters stretch of bright white sand, from where you can see Ilha Grande and Palmas Beach. It’s known as the place to watch the most beautiful sunrise in the region, and in June and July, at dusk and at dawning, you can see the local fishermen use traditional methods to haul in schools of mullet, a regional and seasonal delicacy.

Ilhéus

After about an-hour walk, you will arrive at Praia dos Ilhéus, which can only be reached by trails. A paradisiac scenery where native vegetation is still intact. This deserted beach is the ideal spot for surfing, and it is visited by surfers from all over Brazil, who are in search of extreme waves. Don’t miss the chance to visit this beautifully preserved area of Governador Celso Ramos.
